Promises
of God
First thing I would like to establish, is that God always speaks the truth. The following two scriptures tell us that God will not and cannot lie. NU
23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. HEB
6:17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his
purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it
with an oath. 6:18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable
things in which it is impossible for God to lie,
we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly
encouraged.

If God cannot lie, we can be absolutely sure about his promises. There are many things God has promised us. I just want to pick out some of the ones I feel are extremely important and will really help us in our daily walk.
This promise I believe explains itself. He will not let us down.

Please read the following four promises and think about them for a few minutes:
When we are told that there is nothing that is too hard for God, it should give us complete confidence in him.
With God as our helper, we can handle any situation we may get into.
Even
our salvation is guaranteed. Nothing can separate us from God.

How
do we qualify for God’s promises? We
need to do our part: HEB
10:36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of
God, you will receive
what he has promised. What is the will of God for us?
So are the commandments a big list of does and don’ts? Actually there are only two. If we follow them all the rest will take care of itself. MT 22:37 Jesus replied: " `Love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: `Love your neighbor as
yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments." There are many things the Bible speaks of regarding how we should live, but if you really think about it, these last four verses do cover it all.
