Does God have the power to help me? Can God really do all things? These have been questions that have been asked by many people.
| Lets start by reading two passages in the Bible: | ||
Jeremiah
32:17 17"Ah,
Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and
the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard
for you.
Luke
1:37
| According
to what we have just read, there isn’t anything that God cannot do.
These are huge statements, the first one by Jeremiah in the Old Testament
and the second one by Luke in the New Testament. How can we check out some
of the things God has done? Aside from the countless miracles we see in
the Bible, there are other ways to see what God can do.
Lets see what the Bible
says about this: |
Romans
1:20 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
| This tells us that we can look at
the things God has made and see him in it. Look at nature itself, the way
the Plant life and animal life work together; it is impossible for this to
happen by accident or evolution. Spend some time watching animal and
nature shows on TV see how everything fits together to get your own proof.
This is just one small example. Another example is the DNA studies that
have been done. Scientists are totally amazed at the complexity of DNA.
These are just two examples, if you look around you will find many more.
There are people that try to explain these things away, but if you look at
it with an open mind, you will only come to one conclusion:
God has to exist and he is all power full. |
Another way we can see the power of God, is to ask others. Talk to believers that are truly trying to live for God, or just watch their lives and you will be able to see God at work in their lives. |
We take a chance and trust him. He will prove it. Many of us reach a point where we feel like we just can’t go any further, that is when we need to take a chance and trust in God and his promises and we will see his power and experience his help. |
Read the following passages, these are promises that apply to believers: |
Isaiah
41:10 10So
do not fear, for I am with you; |
Psalm
34:17 17The
righteous cry out, and the LORD
hears them; |
These are promises that guarantee us that God will help us. |
Lets see what Peter writes in the following passage:
1st Peter 1:6-7 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. |
In other words: “We have to go thru fire to become gold”. God wants to know that we mean what we say. There are a lot of people that say they are believers till it gets a little rough and as soon as this happens they jump ship. God wants us to get stronger in our believes as time goes on. We may not always understand why God allows things to happen, but according to the following Bible passage it will always work out for good. |
Romans
8:28
Key points in this lesson: God has the power to help me God can do anything God promises to help me
So what do I do? Should I take a chance on God? Where do I start? |
| It has to start by putting your trust in him, which starts by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. | ||
